Need Ice breaker games for a group of women from church?
minister asked:
We are having a birthday party for the pastor’s wife and many people there will be meeting for the first time or really do not know much about eachother need some game ideas to break the ice, but that do not seem dumb. Women will be in their 30’s - 40’s

You better call in a Coast Guard Cutter for those hens.

Have them all bring pictures of their kids and family.
( there are 10 people) Say your going to have a beauty contest with the pictures. At the end of looking at pictures and talking about them and their families, say, it is a 10 way tie..and every one gets a prize..a small box of chocolates.
If you are really brave, you can choose one. But giving a room full of woman chocolates, is always a good idea.

Get a little prize. Wrap it. Put on a label and write on it some description. Like “Person who speaks the most languages” or “Person with the most grandchildren.” Wrap it again. Repeat. In the end, you’ll wrap the thing about 10 times. Then at the party, read off the first label and pass the prize to the person it describes. She unwraps one layer and passes it on. Everyone gets to talk about their background, why they do or don’t match the description, and laughs as the prize gets passed around. The person to unwrap the final layer, wins the prize. Since this is a birthday party, you might make that final one something that describes the pastor’s wife, so that she receives the prize. Otherwise, make sure you don’t know who the final label describes, so you’re not “fixing” the game!

There are some icebreaker games at but I am unsure if they are suitable for 40+ (depends how much of the child in them wants to come out)
