I need a good ice breaker at Starbucks?

Often I’m at Starbucks or similar coffee chains to do work. I get totally absorbed in my work in such environments. Sometimes when I “come out of it” to take a break, I’ll look up and see an attractive woman sitting by herself. When did she get there? I am get so wrapped up I don’t notice.

On one hand, I know that women probably get hit up a lot, and don’t want to be “that” icky guy that pitches unwelcome lines. On the other hand, maybe she wants to be approached. Tough call.
Some times there is quick eye contact, a nice smile exchange before eye contact is broken. Ladies, what would be a welcome thing for a guy to say in this situation, if anything? Or do you just want to be left the hell alone to enjoy your coffee?
